      The Diablo Pacific Shortline (DPSL) is a portable large scale (approximately 1:28) railroad organized to educate and inform the general public about railroads and their role in American transportation, the hobby of large scale model railroading, resources available to existing and prospective large scale model railroad hobbyists, and skills and techniques useful for the large scale model railroad hobbyist.

      The DPSL is a fully functional portable display that is transported to and set up at various events. There are about 500 feet of brass track and a variety of rolling stock and structures. Members range from experienced modelers who welcome your interest and questions to youth learning about engineering, electronics, and construction relevant to large scale model railroading. See the EVENTS page for a list of future functions where the DPSL will be operating.

      The DPSL seeks to increase the membership base and welcomes interest from new members. A membership form is available on our website or from any member during an event. Membership benefits include the ability to: develop a portion of the portable railroad; to run trains on the layout during functions; and to share in the benefits provided to DPSL members by function hosts. Members who attend functions enjoy the camaraderie of helping to set up and take down the layout.
